Travelling to Powell River
By Ferry
For those unfamiliar with how to travel to Powell River, please be aware that one has to take two ferries to get here from Vancouver. You must travel on the Langdale ferry from Horseshoe Bay to the Sunshine Coast (Gibsons) and then drive 52 kms along a scenic route to Earl’s Cove. With no stops and average speed the trip takes an hour and fifteen minutes. From Earl’s Cove you will embark on the next ferry to Saltery Bay, 22 kms south of Powell River. This trip takes a bit of planning to coordinate ferry departure times and generally takes between 4.5 to 5 hours. We recommend you allow more time on long weekends!
The ferry from Comox on Vancouver Island (Little River) to Powell River (Westview) travels 4 times a day and arrives right in the center of town. Map
